This free online tool lets you add a text watermark to a photo in seconds. Upload an image, type your watermark, choose its position, size, colour and opacity, and download the protected image. How to add a watermark
- Upload your photo by dragging it in or clicking to choose a file.
- Type your watermark text (your name, brand or © notice).
- Choose the position, and adjust size, opacity and colour.
- Turn on Tile across image for a repeated, harder-to-remove watermark.
- Click Download watermarked to save your image.
Why watermark your images?
A watermark is text or a logo placed over an image to show who owns it. Photographers, designers, bloggers and businesses use watermarks to protect their work from being copied or used without credit, and to promote their brand whenever the image is shared. A semi-transparent watermark in a corner is subtle, while a tiled watermark across the whole photo is much harder to crop or edit out.
For the best balance of protection and looks, use a moderate opacity (around 40–60%) so the watermark is visible but doesn’t ruin the image. Place it where it can’t simply be cropped off — over an important part of the photo, or tiled everywhere.
