Free SERP Snippet Preview Tool
This free online SERP snippet preview tool shows you exactly how your page’s title and meta description will look in Google search results — before you publish. It measures your title’s real pixel width (not just characters) and your description length, with desktop and mobile previews, so you can fix anything that would get cut off. It’s free, instant and runs entirely in your browser.
How to use the SERP preview tool
- Enter your page title, URL and meta description on the left (or click Load sample).
- Watch the Google preview update live on the right.
- Check the length meters — they turn amber or red if your title or description is too long or short.
- Switch between Desktop and Mobile to see how each is truncated differently.
- Click Copy meta tags to grab the ready-made
<title>and<meta description>HTML.
Why title and meta description length matters
Google truncates titles that are too wide — roughly 600 pixels on desktop, which is about 50–60 characters depending on the letters used (wide letters like “W” and “M” take more space). That’s why this tool measures pixels, not just character count. Meta descriptions are usually shown up to around 155–160 characters on desktop and fewer on mobile.
A title or description that gets cut off mid-sentence looks unprofessional and can lower your click-through rate. Keeping your most important words near the front, writing a clear and compelling description, and staying within these limits helps your result stand out. Remember that Google sometimes rewrites snippets, so treat this preview as a strong guide rather than a guarantee.
